Dr. Stephen John Franzino is a board-certified, fellowship trained Orthopaedic surgeon with over fourteen years of experience and is continually providing patients with advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services for a wide range of Orthopaedic conditions. He currently practices at St. Helena Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics, the practice he started in 2003 in the Napa Valley.
Dr. Franzino graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Southern California. He then attended and earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He was honored with highest distinction and selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Franzino then completed Orthopaedic internship and residency training at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dedicated to furthering his knowledge and training of Sports Medicine, Dr. Franzino also completed an additional one-year fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
During his fellowship year, Dr. Franzino provided Orthopaedic coverage for the San Francisco Giants (MLB), Oakland Raiders (NFL), San Jose Sharks (NHL), San Jose Sabercats (AFL), USA National Rugby Team and the College of San Mateo.

Dr. Franzino is currently an orthopaedic consultant and a member of the medical staff for several professional Bay area sports teams, including the San Jose Sharks (NHL), San Jose Sabercats (Arena Football League) and San Jose Stealth (Professional Lacrosse League).
